When you think of a suave gentleman you may think of flashy jewelry or exotic sports cars or quoting /misquoting The Art of War. True enough. But there is no single signifier more characteristic of the upwardly mobile man than an (expensive) watch.
It’s true men are obsessed with watches but Baba Ghafla is one of those guys that are from the school of thought that no one needs one because they tend to be seriously expensive plus you have your phone that shows you correct time of different cities around the world.
Whereas I put on my simple CK watch, the two braggarts in the office, Uncle Chim Tuna a.k.a. Tongue Man & resident ‘Gali-lounger’ a.k.a. Mr. Website Crasher (who wants everyone else to believe he’s a web-developer) a.k.a. Fox a.k.a. Festus Were insist on spotting KSh25,000+ watches at the expense of their wallets.
Anyhow, it now emerges that Kiss 100’s Shaffie Weru is also a watch connoisseur. Shaffie is dedicated to the preservation and enjoyment of not only important but high-end ‘time pieces’. Here’s his collection;
